The 31st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party was a glamorous affair, but the focus behind the party atmosphere was to continue fundraising for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Thanks to generous donors, sponsors and supporters, the Foundation raised more than $9 million to help end AIDS globally.

The star-studded fundraiser was held on March 12 in Los Angeles at West Hollywood Park and featured an unforgettable performance by actress and singer Rina Sawayama.

Dinner guests were treated to an exclusive “Spotlight”, sunglass frame, from the Elton John eyewear collection. They also enjoyed a duet by Sawayama with Elton John, singing “Chosen Family”.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation has raised millions of dollars for its life-saving efforts in advancing global health equity.

“I am delighted to be reunited with my friends after so much time apart tonight and even better, to have raised more than $9 million to fight AIDS,” said Sir Elton John.

“We can’t ignore the fact that HIV still causes unnecessary suffering in many parts of the world.

Protect those who are most susceptible to this disease by testing them and providing compassionate care. “We can end AIDS within our lifetimes. But first, we need to eliminate stigma and discrimination, and ensure equal access to healthcare for all.”
