What is your favorite way to relax after a long day?

After work, I go running or to a pilates or yoga class. This is a great way to relax and let work go so I can spend time with my family. After dinner, I meditate and read before going to sleep. I share my day with my husband and my daughter. I am currently reading “The art of Happiness” by the Dalai Lama, which is an incredibly powerful and beautiful read.

What is your most important self-care practice?

Meditation is one of my most important self-care practices. I meditate every day and have found it to have tremendous power. I exercise daily and eat a plant-based diet, which gives me energy and vitality.

Allowing myself time between meetings is another key self-care technique that is simple but can make a big difference. It is so important to me to take time out for myself throughout the day. I need to breathe, eat a healthy lunch and enjoy some fresh air.

Has the unexpected circumstances that have occurred in the past 18 months affected the way you view self-care and how do you feel about it?

This experience has made me realize, more than ever before, how important it is to make self-care the priority, for myself and my entire team. I am a firm believer that it is possible to be successful at work and still prioritise health and well-being. I think finding the right balance is crucial. The new value system that’s slowly taking over more businesses leads to happier and healthier employees who are more productive and sustainable. The health and happiness my team is my top priority and I want to lead by example in implementing this new way of working into my business.

What would you tell your younger self about health and wellness?

I would have told my younger self that health and wellbeing is not something you can just expect. It requires a lot of dedication and practice to many little healthy habits. I would have told my younger self to stop listening to the frantic thoughts in her head and to instead listen to my body and to trust her intuition.

What’s your favorite affirmation?

The world is not working against you. It’s for you.
